Interactive Faith – To the Ends of the Earth

To the Ends of the Earth

Beginning in your Backyard

As a Christian, you know the joy, peace, and hope of being sure your sins are forgiven and eternal life is yours. You want others to know this as well.

But, perhaps—like many Christians—telling others about Jesus is daunting. What do I say? How do I say it? What if I don’t have answers to people’s questions?

Join us for our next Interactive Faith Bible study as we discuss these very questions and concerns. Pastor Eric Roecker, director of the WELS Commission on Evangelism, will use video vignettes from the new movie To the Ends of the Earth to guide our discussion. Our prayer is that these lessons will make you more confident in your conversations with those who do not yet know their Savior.

Join us on November 7, 14, and 28 (6 & 8 p.m. CST). Lord willing, through the Word and our time together, the Spirit will embolden you to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, beginning in your backyard.

Interactive Faith – Isaiah: God confronts and comforts his people

Led by Rev. Daniel Habben, pastor at St. John, St. John’s, Antigua

“Isaiah: God confronts and comforts his people” covers the first 12 chapters of Isaiah. “ ‘A virgin will be with child . . . and he was pierced for our transgressions.’ Seven hundred years before the arrival of God’s Son into our world, the Holy Spirit worked especially hard through the prophet Isaiah to get the people of his day to turn from their sin and embrace their Savior-God,” says Habben. “Through the words of Isaiah, God still confronts and comforts his people.”

Interactive Faith – Luther’s Lasting Impact

Led by Prof. Joel Otto from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary

Prof. Otto writes, “Luther’s Reformation led to profound developments that impacted the church and how people learn, confess, and live their faith. As Lutherans living in the 21st century, what Luther brought about is still part of who we are as Christians and as a church. This study will examine those developments that continue to have a lasting impact.”

Interactive Faith – Luther’s Small Catechism

What does this mean? The continuing importance of Luther’s Small Catechism

Led by Rev. John Braun, Northwestern Publishing House

We will study the importance of Luther’s Small Catechism for our own society and culture. We will review the six chief parts. What does it mean for Christian morality in today’s world without moral standards? What does it mean for Christian beliefs in a world where you can believe anything? What does it mean for Christian devotion and our personal relationship with God? What does it mean for our church life as Lutherans when the church appears to be more social than spiritual? The class will start with a little history of the Catechism and its importance in the Reformation and conclude with a discussion of what the future may hold for us and the next generation.

Interactive Faith – Who is your God

Who is your God?

For millennia people have known that a higher being exists. As they planted their crops, hoping for rain, they assumed they needed to inspire the “gods” to produce rain so their crops would grow. They tried to figure out who was their GOD.

Ever since the Fall into sin, human beings have wanted the status of “god.” They want to be GOD. They want to play GOD.

But who exactly is the one true God? What is he like? What are his attributes? What is his will? What does he do? What amazing blessings become ours as we get to know our God better?

Pastor Gary Pufahl, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Big Bend, WI, and chairman of the WELS Adult Discipleship, leads an online Interactive Faith Bible Study exploring the theme: Who is your God, for whom you live?

You will desire to “take off your sandals” as you stand before God, but you will also walk with joy in your heart as God lifts you from the dust.
